To the dismay of those of you hoping Cobi Jones would remain the LA Galaxy head coach following Ruud Gullit's departure, The Bruce will be named for the head coaching role. With the glass being half-full, the Galaxy land an experienced coach that many consider the best coach in US history. He has won several championships with DC United and knows the league very well. If you are more of a glass half-empty type like myself, you'll be quick to point out that everyone was saying just these things when Arena took the helm in New York. Will the frustratingly dismal fringe players rally around Landycakes, Goldenballs and The Bruce, or will it be yet another disappointing year where LA fails to reach the playoffs?
In unrelated MLS news, the Revs apparently will not land Benny Feilhaber as he has signed in Denmark, and Toronto may be looking for midfield help as they have reportedly agreed in principal to a $5 million dollar deal to send Maurice Edu across the pond to Scotland where he will join Demarcus Beasley at Rangers.
