Brad Shelofsky will be graduating from Greece Athena this year after representing his school in all three sport seasons this year. Brad was the team captain and MVP for the soccer team in the fall season, and the senior defender helped lead Athena to the sectional semi-finals with a record of 10-3-5. From the backline Brad still led the team in assists on the season. His efforts were recognized by the league as he was a First Team AGR selection and was selected to the Sectional Tournament Team for his continued success in the post-season. In the winter Brad moved on to the basketball court, where he again displayed his positive leadership in the role of team captain. Again the team MVP, Brad helped his team in a playmaker role, leading them in assists and sending them to a league title and sectional semi-final birth. For his efforts he was recognized as Second Team All-County. In the spring season Brad was a doubles player for the tennis team and helped them to their deepest sectional run in 11 years. With all his athletic commitments Mr. Shelofsky has still managed to shine in the classroom, earning a 4.2 GPA. Brad will graduate with Valedictory honors.

Jessica Shufelt will soon be a graduate of Arcadia but she is not likely to be forgotten by the school in the near future. Jessica was a starter on the varsity basketball team and earned Second Team All-County honors. Basketball is a great sport... but now, soccer! The 2007 New York State Player of the Year has led her team to two sectional titles and a state championship which was in her senior year. Oh yeah, she scored the winning goal. After leading Monroe County in scoring for three straight seasons, she holds the Greece Arcadia record for goals scored. She has also been on the high honor roll all through high school. Jessica has been named a top 75 college recruit for women's soccer by Soccer Buzz Magazine, and has represented her country against the likes of Brazil and Holland. Don't forget her name as you will be likely to hear more from this young woman in the near future!
Congratulations to Brad and Jessica, and best of luck to them as they continue on past their high school careers. Brad will attend RPI and continue his soccer career, as will Jessica at UCONN, where they will no doubt both be successful.
