We now stand just one DC United vs LA Galaxy game away from the big showdown. I must say it was an intelligent decision by Garber and the MLS to showcase the league to fans that may watch soccer, but not so much MLS. A handful of people will at least catch the end when they are getting settled in for the Euro final and others will watch the whole game because of Donovan and Beckham. I'll pick a 2-2 draw in the MLS game.
As we near the Germany-Spain showdown, it is being rumored that Michael Ballack will in fact give it a go despite the calf injury. How effective will he be? On can only guess, but perhaps being in the starting 11 even at 90 percent would be enough to stabilize the midfield and maintain the confidence of his teammates. Everyone seems to like Spain to win this but I'm not so sure. I have been picking Spain 2-1, but Germany will be difficult to break down. Spain tends to be patient on offense to find the holes in a defense, but Germany's defense prevents many holes from opening up, and will defend with just as much patience. As I type this DC United has gone on top of the Galaxy 1-0 on a Jaime Moreno spot kick. So let's have it, who do you think will win either of today's games? Who will you be rooting for, and where will you be watching? For me I'll be watching in the comfort of my home today, and I'll be wearing a Germany jersey!
