For those of you who have not noticed (this included me until 45 minutes ago), FSC is broadcasting the youth tournament in France this week. The United States with a somewhat makeshift squad just fell 3-2 to Turkey. The Turkey squad looked pretty good. Goals for the US were scored by Sammy Ochoa and Eric Brunner, Brunner being the defender that recently turned down the pittance offered by the Red Bulls in favor of a contract with Miami of the USL.
Currently airing on FSC (which you can access for online viewing by going to the live tab, then FSC, at playbeautifully.com) is the Italian youth squad taking on Ivory Coast's youth squad.
Ives Galarcep reports that Arsenal are set to sign Samir Nasri, the promising young talent currently with Marseille. With Hleb potentially on the move, Nasri could step right in and fill a position of need immediately for Arsenal.
If you need a place to stop in for a late lunch break from work this afternoon to catch the Chelsea-Manchester United game, a crowd will be gathering at Monty's Korner in Rochester for the action (Thanks Mark!)
