Rhinos Fall to Thunder

UPDATE: Upon reading about the game, the Thunder opened scoring in the 26th minute and shortly after Hamed Diallo earned a penalty kick. He chose to go straight down the middle, and the keeper was not fooled, extending the Rhinos scoring drought to two full games. Not a huge fan of having the man fouled take a penalty, but in this case he is their go to spot kick man so you can't argue.

The Rhinos have dropped a second straight game to open the 2008 campaign. Sunday night's defeat came at the hands of the Thunder, 1-0. I was not able to catch any of the match due to other obligations, but if anyone did watch or listen please fill the rest of us in on your thoughts. Having only followed one of the two I can't say if the final third caused trouble again, or if we were simply outplayed, but it is somewhat alarming to be shutout twice to open the season. Rochester has three more on the road before returning for the home opener, starting with the Portland Timbers Thursday night. Here's hoping I'm not watching the home opener still awaiting the first win of the season! Share your thoughts, concerned with the start, writing it off due to a tumultuous offseason and and tough road start, think Bruce Arena was more the man for the job than Darren Tilly? (kidding!) Let's hear it, in the meantime we'll hope I am not in the stands on May 17th looking like Ronaldo asking for a call...

With so many new players, it seems they haven't yet come together as a unit. I wouldn't expect this drought to continue much longer. We have a midfield for the first time in three seasons, and that's gonna make for lethal scoring opportunities once our guys get their legs under them.
